The sealant is then flowed into the grooves of the tooth and allowed to harden with a special curing light. Your child will be able to eat right after the appointment.

How long will sealants last?

Sealants can last a long time, many years if properly taken care of. If your child has a good oral hygiene, avoids biting on hard objects, avoids chewing on ice, then the sealants can last a long time. Grinding of teeth or bruxism tend to wear the sealants.

Will sealants make teeth feel different?

The sealants might feel strange for a day or two. But the children feel fine after that.

Are sealants visible?

No. They are clear or tooth color shaded plastic materials which are not visible.
